Gloria Walker here. I am always creating. My desire to assemble, upcycle and hunt for antiques, materials, found objects and unique substrates is always in the front of my mind. A longlife puzzle enthusiast must dictate why I am a Mix Media Mosaicist and Artist.
So if you like my work, keep checking back and sharing my website with your friends. I’ll probably be in my studio breaking plates, mixing grout, assembling materials or here on the computer adding photos of new works for you to enjoy or purchase. I work on commission as well, so let me know your ideas.
Besides producing artwork, I teach Art. I began my journey for teaching in 1980 and have worked as a Professional Public School Art Educator since 1996. I love sharing my knowledge of materials, techniques and art history.
Constant support and love keeps me going. My world, My loves, My everything. I recognize the full worth of their humor more than they will ever know.
Most importantly, my support, my guy, my partner in crime. The peanut butter to my jelly, the ink to my pen. True Love Mo!
Upcycling is a way of taking found material and repurposing it.
Upcycled Art often becomes more beautiful than what it previously was.
Items can be broken down and reused in an art form called Multimedia Art.
Materials are reused in a clever new way, giving them a second beautiful life.
Reusing materials instead of throwing them away. Less landfill waste has a positive impact on the environment.
What is Mixed Media?
Mixed media art is when the artist combines a mixture of different materials to create their work.
The materials used can be anything, like paint, paper, cardboard, photographs, found objects, things from nature - anything!
